Holdpad – Quick Notes & Notepad for Any Page · Last updated 25 September 2026

Summary

Holdpad keeps the notes you write, and the text, links and page addresses you choose to save, only on your own device. It never transmits, sells or shares any of it: the extension has no network access. It does not record the pages you visit.

What Holdpad stores

The notes you write or save (their text and formatting, and for saved selections, links and pages, the address and title of the page they came from), an unsaved draft, and your settings. All of this is kept in Chrome's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on your computer.

Nothing is stored on any server. Holdpad does not use sync storage, cookies, analytics, advertising or crash reporting.

No network access

The extension's content security policy blocks all network connections (connect-src 'none'). Holdpad cannot send your notes, or anything else, over the internet.
